RUSSIAN SHIVELUCH VOLCANO ERUPTS FOR 6 HOURS

CNN reports the Shiveluh Volcano in Kamchatka, in Russia erupted on Thursday for about six hours, according to the Head of the Regional Department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations.

Citizens received a timely warning about the eruption, and many school and businesses were closed down. After the incident was over, the restrictions were lifted, and roads were opened once again. The eruption began at around 2 am Moscow time on Wednesday and ended until 8am.

There were no injuries, emergencies not health issues reported from the eruption. Ash shot up about six miles above sea level and settled as far as fifty-five miles away in the town of Ust-Kamchatsky.
