'RACE FOR THE CURE' ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS

Susan G. Komen Denver Race for the Cure started in Hunt Valley on Sunday to raise money for the awareness of breast cancer. 

This one of the most talked about event, whose motto is to “save lives and end breast cancer forever.” Like, every year, even this around the event witnessed the presence of large number of enthusiastic participants who pledged their support to the cause of raising awareness about breast cancer.

Every year, more than three million US dollars is raised. This year the organization expects to raise a bit more. This fund provides them with the resources to treat breast cancer and also spread public awareness campaigns. The cost of registration for the race was $40 for adults and $30 for kids below the age of eighteen and senior citizens. 

The main aim of Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure is to have a world sans of breast cancer. The fund that is raised is utilized especially for the uninsured or under-insured women, across the nineteen counties in Denver. 

This year, more than 55,000 people joined the walk and participated in the several fun events organized by the institution. In the meanwhile, the event organizers have revealed that this year they intend to raise a whopping $3 million through the race.

The event was first started in 1983. At that time, the number of people participating for this event was very less. However, rate of participation has increased a lot now, which reveals a good sign, that people are actually getting aware of this disease and wants to make an effort to eradicate it.
