England scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to get past Wales 2-0 at the Millennium Stadium at Cardiff in the Euro 2012 qualifier on Saturday.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard put the Three Lions ahead with a penalty kick after seven minutes as Ashley Young was tripped by James Collins in the area.

Only seven minutes after the opening goal, Darren Bent added a second comfortably when Young sent the cross into the box from the right flank. Liverpool defender Glen Johnson launched the attack with a pinpoint long pass finding Young.

Wales struggled desperately and failed to make any impact in the first half with no shot and corner at all. Although the home side improved a lot after the break, they could hardly threatened England goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Wales suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the Euro 2012 qualification campaign while England managed to top the Group G with three wins and one draw.
