An informatics expert has concluded that a photo of a man watching an international tennis match in Nusa Dua last week is Gayus Halomoan Tambunan, a high-profile graft suspect who should have been in his detention cell in Jakarta at the time.
Informatics expert Abimanyu Wachjoewidajat said he had compared photographs of Gayus Tambunan with the one taken by a Kompas photographer at the tennis match using morphing technology, which compares certain parameters of facial features.
“The result is that both photographs are identical,” Abimanyu told Kompas.com on Sunday.
Abimanyu said he had also examined the background of the photograph taken in Nusa Dua and determined that it was real.
“It can be assumed that the man in the photo was really watching the international tennis match,” he said.
Abimanyu is the second expert to support the validity of the photograph, after multimedia expert turned lawmaker Roy Suryo announced the same result hours earlier today.
Abimanyu had previously been asked to compare photographs of singer Naszriel “Ariel” Ilham, and TV celebrities Luna Maya and Cut Tari, who were involved in a sex video scandal.
