Four separate shooting incidents at some spots in New Orleans during the Halloween left 2 people dead and 15 others injured. The police say they have arrested one person in connection with the violence.

Officials say the attacks were not related in any way. Bourbon Street was one of the places where the exchange of gunfire took place. Authorities say they do not yet know the motive for the gunfight. Bourbon Street is one of the busiest neighborhoods in New Orleans.

Since Hurricane Katrina, authorities say gun violence in New Orleans has gone up considerably. Officials in the city have tried several measures to bring the incident down but so far it has not been successful.

One of the dead people has been identified as a 19-year-old. The only suspect being held in connection with the attack is 24-year-old Baltiman Malcom. He was arrested at Canal Street where another gun battle led to the death of one person.

Malcom was among the people who were seen fleeing from the scene of the incident when the officers got to the place. Two other people escaped when the police engaged them in a foot chase.

Malcom is being held on the charge of first degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
