RUSSIAN TEEN FINDS A LETTER THAT WAS TOSSED INTO THE BALTIC SEA

Frank Uesbeck was just five years when he tossed a bottle containing a message into the Baltic Sea. Uesbeck was with his father when he tossed the bottle into the sea while they were in a ship traveling to Denmark. The incident happened back in 1987 but his wish has finally come true.

The letter which was written in German urged whoever would chanced on the letter to reply to the address provided in the letter. A 13-year-old Russian boy who was walking on the beach with his parents recently chanced on the bottle.

Curiosity took the better part of Daniil Korotkikh when he saw the bottle. He told the Associated Press that, “I saw that bottle and it looked interesting. It looked like a German beer bottle with a ceramic plug, and there was a message inside.”

Daniil’s father interpreted the letter to him and he was interested in replying the letter. Fortunately enough, the address that was provided in the letter was still valid and Uesbeck’s parents were still using it.

When Uesbeck was contacted, he had very little memory about the whole incident and as it later turned out it was his father who wrote the letter. Uesbeck and Daniil have met through Internet video link and they hope that they would get to meet sometime in the future.
