Jurgen Klinsmann is all set to replace Bob Bradley as the new team coach of the US National Soccer Team. Bob was shown the door on Thursday and then there was a buzz in the air that Jurgen Klinsmann might succeed him and now it has been confirmed by USSF.

The team was formulated in 1991 and since then there have been four coaches prior to Jurgen. However he holds the distinction of being the second coach who was born on foreign soil. The first foreign born coach was Bora Milutinović, who was at the helm of the team for four years from 1991-1995.

The appointment of Jurgen was confirmed in a statement by the USSF. The USSF President Sunil Gulati said that, “We are excited to have Jürgen as the head coach of our Men’s National Team. He is a highly accomplished player and coach with the experience and knowledge to advance the program. Jürgen has had success in many different areas of the game and we look forward to the leadership he will provide on and off the field.”

Prior to taking up this responsibility, Jurgen was best known for turning around the fortunes of the Germany team.
