The Taliban in Pakistan have threatened that they will take revenge for the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in the country’s Abbottabad city, a media report said.

Geo News reported that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) confirmed Osama’s death in a US operation that saw crack commandos arriving in choppers and shooting dead the Al Qaeda founder at a sprawling mansion in the major military cantonment town.

A spokesperson for the TTP said in an audio message that “Pakistan will be the prime target”.

He said: “Now Pakistani rulers are on our hit-list.”

“We had also killed (former prime minister) Benazir Bhutto, we killed her in a suicide attack,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.

Bhutto was assassinated Dec 27, 2007, as she was leaving Liaquat Bagh in a motorcade after addressing an election rally in Rawalpindi, the twin city of Islamabad.
