Pop star Mariah Carey has given birth to twins at a Los Angeles hospital on her third wedding anniversary.
The singer and her husband Nick Cannon became the parents of a baby girl and boy who have not yet been named.
Carey's representative, Cindi Berger, said the babies were born at around noon local time on Saturday.
Berger said the girl was born first, weighing 5lb 3oz (2.35kg). Her brother weighed in at 5lb 6oz (2.44kg).
Cannon drove 41-year-old Carey to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom. The mother-to-be, who had gone through false labour, was calm, thinking that it was another false alarm, said Berger.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Cannon was so nervous he went to the wrong department at the hospital, and was guided to the maternity ward by a nurse.
"It was like right out of an 'I Love Lucy' skit," said Berger, referring to the 1950s US TV comedy.
Berger says they were listening to Carey's "We Belong Together" after the children were born.
The couple, who got married in 2008 after a whirlwind romance, are expected to renew their wedding vows following the birth.
They have been the subject of endless baby rumours.
Carey was actually expecting shortly after their marriage, but suffered a miscarriage, which they did not reveal until she announced her pregnancy last autumn.
The couple plan to live between the West and East coasts of America, and have luxurious nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.
As for more children, Carey recently declared she's "done".
