An Indonesian court on Monday jailed six men for up to nine years for their involvement in a terror cell known as 'Al-Qaeda in Aceh'.
The group was allegedly training to carry out Mumbai-style attacks by small groups of suicide gunmen on Western targets and political figures in the capital Jakarta.
Oman Rohman, 38, received nine years' jail for providing US$2,320 (S$3060) to pay for the group's military-style training in the jungles of western Aceh province, chief judge Mutarto told the West Jakarta district court.
'He gave the money directly to Dulmatin late in 2009 to organise the training,' he said, referring to one of the region's most-wanted militant Islamists who was killed by Indonesian police in March.
An alleged mastermind of the 2002 Bali bombings which killed 202 people, Dulmatin was a suspected leader of the Aceh group, which was discovered by police in February.
In a separate trial, the court sentenced five men to seven to eight years' prison for attending the cell's training camp and possessing illegal firearms.
