The UAE has called for addressing the real causes behind piracy and reiterated its commitment to fully cooperate with the UN and other regional efforts to fight the menace off the coast of Somalia.
It called for addressing the piracy issue through restoration of security, rule of law, peace, development and stability in Somalia.
This came in a statement delivered by the UAE’s permanent representative to the UN, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman before the liaison team tasked with tackling piracy at the UN headquarters in New York Saturday.
