Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was fatally wounded in her car early Tuesday in Beverly Hills, not long after attending a premiere of "Burlesque," police said.
The Los Angeles County coroner's office said Chasen, 64, was shot about 12:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Times reported.
Police said shots were fired into Chasen's Mercedes as she drove home along Sunset Boulevard, CNN reported. Chasen's car smashed into a utility pole and she died at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, police said.
Police said they didn't know why Chasen was shot or who did it, the news network said.
The Times said Chasen's client list had included many top celebrities and movie and television producers through the years, including Natalie Wood, composer Hans Zimmer, and movie producers Dick Zanuck and Irwin Winkler.
