Close to one thousand rats are waiting for a family to adopt them in California after they were rescued from a home which was featured on the reality television show ‘Hoarders’ on A&E.
The rodents were taken away in trucks by the Humane Society over the weekend, and rode from the Los Angeles home to San Jose, as over thirty volunteers and other non-profit staff helped to re-locate the animals to San Jose, to end up in ‘Andy’s Pet Shop’, who has agreed to keep them temporarily.
North Star Rescue’s Lauren Paul stated to the ‘San Jose Mercury News’ that the rodent’s former owner began the rat collection when their daughter brought home a pregnant rat, and the litter spread rapidly throughout the home, and soon began to tear apart the house.
A neighbor called the reality television show, ‘Hoarders’ to report the issue, and hopefully get help for the owner, and for the rats. Rat lovers are asked to come forward and give a home to the animals.
