The death toll from monsoon flooding in Thailand has reached 34, the government said Sunday.
The National Institute of Emergency Management compiled the number of deaths reported by 13 provinces from Oct. 10 through Sunday.
Six deaths each were reported in the provinces of Nakorn Rachasima, Buriram and Lopburi; three each in Kon kaen, Petchabun and Rayong; two in Chayaphum, and one each in Trad, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Nonthaburi and Uthaithani.
Earlier, officials said Bangkok was bracing for the combination of river water flowing from the north and high full-moon tides from the sea.
