Swedish police said they were on alert Sunday following the arrests off two suspects in an apparent bomb plot aimed at a shopping center in Gothenburg.
The two individuals were custody following an early morning raid and additional police were patrolling the center of the country's second-largest city.
Ulf Edberg, spokesman for the county of Vastra Gotaland, told the Swedish news agency TT that specifics of the investigation were being withheld for the time being.
A number of other people arrested in the raid were released but remained under suspicion, TT said.
CNN said bits and pieces of information from Swedish media indicated police received a tip late last week from a reliable source that a bomb could go off during the weekend at or near the Nordstan shopping mall in the center of Gothenburg.
