The number of dengue cases in Delhi continued to surge Tuesday with 75 more people getting infected by the mosquito-borne disease, taking the total number of affected people to 5,215.

Of the total cases, 26 receiving treatment here were from outside the city, said an official of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Eight people have died of the disease this year, among them one from outside Delhi.

The MCD Monday resumed fogging after a three-day gap in a desperate bid to kill mosquitoes. It had stopped fogging Oct 21, blaming the Delhi government for not releasing funds since the Commonwealth Games ended Oct 14.
