AMANDA KNOX'S FAMILY INVITES HER EX-BOYFRIEND TO SEATTLE

British newspaper The Times has reported that Amanda Knox’s family has extended an invitation to her former boyfriend. Raffaele Sollecito was also acquitted after the defense team successfully cast doubt on the main evidence that the prosecution team used to convict the suspects.

The Times quoted Sollecito’s father as saying that, “We didn’t manage to speak to Amanda. Raffaele didn’t manage even by telephone. After the court ruling, we went in different directions, but through my daughter I learned that Amanda’s stepfather invited us to Seattle. At this time, we have nothing planned.”

Amanda and Sollecito were sentenced to 25 and 24 years in prison respectively for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher. During the appeal, the defense team convinced the court that the DNA evidence that linked Amanda and Sollecito to the crime scene did not come from the blood. That turned the case in favor of the defense team. The prosecution’s last attempt to bring in new evidence was rejected by the court.

The Times’ report further said that Sollecito has decided to stay with his family for now. He reportedly said he might have to consider the request by Amanda at another time.

The Italian prosecutors say they will appeal the case at the Italian Supreme Court.
