A new international hotel comes up in China every four days, making it one of the fastest growing hotel markets in the world, says a survey.
The Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels Survey said that from 2010 till 2013, at least 360 new internationally-branded hotels will have opened in the country, says the Shanghai Morning Post.
It said that due to the rapid urbanisation and property development in China, a large number of hotels “can appear” in a short period of time.
This increase has led to fiercer competition, the paper said.
Increase in people’s business trips to China have also contributed to healthy performance of the hotel market in 2010 and the first half of 2011.
