The New York maid who filed a civil suit against Dominique Strauss-Kahn on Monday seeking compensation for an alleged sex assault just wants the French politician's money, his lawyers said.
Responding to the suit, lawyers for Strauss-Kahn, who until the scandal had been considered as the likely next president of France, said they would 'vigorously' fight the suit.
Mr William Taylor and Mr Benjamin Brafman said the maid and her attorney Kenneth Thompson had only one motivation when filing the complaint in New York.
'We have maintained from the beginning that the motivation of Mr Thompson and his client was to make money,' the attorneys said.
