Rumours are rife that Prince William and Catherine’s honeymoon could have been delayed by the U.S. government’s decision to assassinate Osama bin Laden.

According to the Daily Mail, security experts have claimed that the decision to delay the honeymoon may have more to do with security than the Prince’s wish to return to work, the Daily Telegraph reported.

President Barack Obama authorised the special forces attack on bin Laden around the same time the royal couple wed.

The website quoted security sources who said the attack on bin Laden in Pakistan meant the palace would be eager to contain the Royal couple in the UK.

But a spokesman for the Palace said William and Catherine’s honeymoon delay was a personal decision.

The newlyweds reportedly plan to honeymoon in a 4,000-pounds-a-night villa on an exclusive island in the Indian Ocean.
