Even the most competent driver has the occasional problem with parking.
And in Paris, in particular, drivers are renowned for making full use of their bumpers.
But this unnamed female driver took it to a whole new level, somehow managing to steer her small silver sedan off a multi-storey car park in Melbourne - from around 50ft - and wedge her car sideways in an alleyway.
For an unknown reason the woman's car was driven through the gap between the sixth and fourth floors of the Kim Lim car park on the corner of A Beckett Street and Anthony Street in the heart of the Australian city's central business district.
The car plunged downwards and struck the roof of the adjoining house, and was flicked round before ricocheting terrifyingly to the ground for a crash landing.Miraculously the car managed to spin around at the last minute and the passenger side of the car took the brunt of the impact, though the roof caved in.
With the car wedged sideways in the alleyway the driver was trapped and had to be cut out by firemen yesterday morning.
Amazingly she escaped serious injury, and according to an Ambulance Victoria spokesman she suffered only a 'cut to her head' and was released from hospital.
Though the woman may have a headache this morning, she will be thanking her lucky stars - the spokesman admitted that she was 'very lucky'.
