U.S. REPRESENTATIVE GABRIELLE GIFFORDS SHOT IN ARIZONA

U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was gunned down along with at-least 17 other people at a busy supermarket at Arizona. The eyewitnesses reported that the U. S. Congresswoman was shot in her head during the incident and six other people died in the massive shooting. The suspect Jared Loughner, 22, was immediately arrested after the incident.

The law enforcement officials reported that the victims were immediately taken to the hospital. The doctors said that Gabrielle Giffords is in a critical condition. Mark Kimble, who works in the communication office of the Congresswoman told a reputed media source that the doctors are optimistic about Gabrielle Giffords’ recovery though they have said that the next three days are going to be critical as her brain has swollen due to the injury. Mark Kimble said that Gabrielle Giffords’ husband Mark Kelly, her sister, parents and mother-in-law were by her bedside. Not only U.S. President Barack Obama but other politicians of both the parties are shocked at the gory incident. President Barack Obama issued a statement following the incident where he mentioned that this shooting is a tragedy for the whole country.

About Gabrielle Giffords, President Barack Obama said that she was his friend and was an amazing public servant. The President has also asked the whole nation to come together and keep the victims and their families in their “thoughts and prayers”. Meanwhile, Robert Mueller, FBI investigator has been sent to Arizona to investigate about the whole incident. Harry Reid, the majority leader of Senate strongly condemned the incident and called it an act of “senseless violence”. Former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin has also expressed her sadness and sent her condolences to the victims of Arizona shooting.
