Singer Shakira has split from her boyfriend of 11 years. Her boyfriend is Antonio de la Rua and despite the fact that their personal relationship has gone to the dogs, yet they remain committed business partners.
The couple separated a number of months ago, in August 2010 but they announced it to the public only recently. However there is a chance that their romance might be rekindled because they issued a statement, which said that, their separation was ‘temporary’.
The couple issued a statement, which said that, “During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply, taken care of each other and stood by one another. They have been the most wonderful years of our lives. However, since August 2010, we made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship… We view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth as we continue to be partners in our business and professional lives.”
On the pop superstar’s official website, the statement also clarified that Antonio is still looking after Shakira’s business and career interests. The statement made it clear that they remain the best of friends, despite their romantic relationship not working out.
