The Chilean miners rescued after two months trapped underground were guests of honour at Manchester United's nail biting 1-0 victory over Arsenal.
Most of the 33 men were at Old Trafford to sample the atmosphere of an evening match where a capacity 75,000 crowd packed the Theatre of Dreams.
The group were watching the game from seats put aside for them in the directors' box.
The miners got VIP access to meet Sir Alex Ferguson and his players before the match - some even took part in Monday's training session.
The trip was suggested by Old Trafford legend Sir Bobby Charlton and was organised by Chilean wine producer Concha Y Toro, which sponsors United.
In welcoming the men to Old Trafford before the match, Sir Bobby said: "You took it in your stride and the whole world was very proud of you."
The miners were dramatically rescued in October when, one by one, they were brought back to the surface in a capsule after spending two months underground.
The story made headlines across the globe and two of the men have said that plans for a film chronicling their ordeal in the South American country are moving fast.
Sir Bobby, the son of a Northumberland miner, suggested the men see a United game when he visited Chile in the autumn.
