FAMILY FLIES IN TO IDENTIFY WHICH AUSTRALIAN TWIN DIED IN COLORADO SHOOTING

The relatives of a set of twenty-nine year old Australian twins are flying to the United States to help the police identify which twin died, and which is still alive, but in critical condition after a bizarre shooting incident in which both sisters were shot and hit the ground and almost the same instant. Since the twins were identical, identification has proven to be difficult.

Both of the women received gunshot wounds to the head. One of them was killed instantly, and the other is listed in critical but stable condition, and is unable to speak with the police. It is unclear whether or not she ever will be able to shed any light on the incident which took her sister’s life and threatened her own. It is not yet known whether the same bullet hit both girls or if it was two different ones.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department is exploring all possibilities, such as whether the girls shot themselves at the same time, shot each other at the same time, or whether one shot the other, either accidentally, or planned, and then shot herself. The last one seems the least likely, since the video from the shooting range where the incident occurred shows both girls hitting the ground at almost the same second. The video did not show anyone else enter the area. There was no suicide note found.

The twin sisters were shooting their weapons at the Family Shooting Centre in Cherry Creek State Park, south of Denver, for over an hour before the tragedy occurred. Witnesses say they seemed happy, and appeared as just a couple of girls having fun at the range. Both girls were experienced with guns and well capable of handling the pistols they had. They had visited the range a few times before.
